Dude looks like he was just in the middle of something with the POW and looked up to see a bunch of Soviet soldiers staring at him.

He looks caught off guard and his gear is messed up (off to the side). My guess is camera persons took this pic while an altercation betweeen the two was going on or had just finished.

Plus the grass (or whatever there standing in) is all pushed down which indicates signs od a ground struggle

Sick fuck is holding his belt as if he was removing it. Knowing that 10 million women were raped by the Wehrmacht on the eastern front, Im fairly certain that the same will unfortunately be her fate

His right hand appears to be holding the magazine on an MP-38/40, in a barrel up position. Can't quite tell what's going on with the left hand.

The cartridge belt is on sideways, anyway. Unless he invented a new fashion trend, I would assume he's been thrashing around and the belt shifted. Not good.

60 Minutes did a story on rape of Soviet women by German soldiers. Sadly, one told of how she was in a German POW camp and Soviet soldiers liberated them and they raped them She went to the Commander of the Soviet troops to complain, and he raped her.

Neither side was inherently good Soviets raped women in Berlin and the Germans did the same in Stalingrad.

Fact:German Army Rule book states that any soldier who commits the crime of rape, and mistreatment of POWs shall be punished by execution or punishment battalion. Of course no one cared about those rules. And officers didnt report them, and did it aswell. Probably only few were punished in the early years. R.I.P. to all of the victims of the invasion.

During the invasion of Poland several German soldiers were accused of war crimes by some high-ranking generals, but all war criminals received a general amnesty for any crime they had committed at the hands of Hitler himself, already for the invasion of the USSR Hitler he made the Barbarossa Decree in which he legalized any war crime that did not undermine discipline so... Yes, that book was completely ignored

They also had a system of sexual slavery organized by the state, only Japan also reached these levels of cruelty with the Comfort Women, it is another of the forgotten Nazi crimes in popular culture:

Most insisted to be shot. Because they knew what was waiting for them. And most were either sent to camps, or to another HQ for a little “chat” or executed sadly.

Field Marshal Walter von Reichenau issued specific orders that women along with captured Russian soldiers were to be immediately shot dead. The Nazis viewed female soldiers as degenerates, and although von Reichenau was a fanatical Nazi this practice was common in armies outside of his command as well.
