On this day, Jun 24, 2017, Naked woman jumping on the rooftop down here"

Imagine this: it is a sunny Sunday afternoon in Manhattan. You are looking outside of your hotel room. On the rooftop of a neighboring building is a naked young woman jumping around.

Well, let me first show you the scene as it was the preceding day (to follow the story, keep scrolling down)

We are back in October 2015. So, seeing this woman, what do you do? Talk to your wife: "honey, there is a naked woman jumping on the rooftop down here". What does she say without even bothering to come and to have a look: "oh, yeah, suuuuuure, a naked woman!" Ok, the only way forward was to collect evidence, i.e. open the window, grab the camera and take pictures. I can only show you two of the pictures I took as all the others would probably be an issue in terms of censorship.

At some point, she seemed to be done, got back to a bag, dressed and disappeared. My wife and I kept wondering in the subsequent days, what the context of this "performance" might have been.... read story

I can only show you two of the pictures I took as all the others would probably be an issue in terms of censorship. At some point, she seemed to be done, got back to a bag, dressed and disappeared. My wife and I kept wondering in the subsequent days, what the context of this "performance" might have been.

It was probably 8 months or so down the road that I was again one evening scrolling through the newest projects on Kickstarter when I stumbled on a project of a New York photographer who looked for funding of his most recent Photo Art Project that had not only a provocative title but it translated the topic into provocative pictures of models in the "city jungle" of New York. And whilst he showed some sample pictures on Kickstarter it was only when I researched the guy, went on his web-site and found this picture (below). That was it. The rest is quickly told: I sent the guy a mail telling him my story and sending him a few of my pics. He reverted within minutes. A few months later we met him and the model in New York for drinks. They gave us all the background about the book, the photo takes etc. He actually stood on that afternoon when I took my pictures on the rooftop of our hotel, taking pictures of the model down on the other roofs, instructing her my mobile phone.

This picture is now hanging as a large scale art print, #1 of 7, signed on the back side by the artist and the model, at my home. Things like this can only likely happen in New York I guess.
