They may be labeled as outcasts or rebels, but in reality, they're the ones who are brave enough to challenge the status quo and forge their own path. Let's celebrate the black sheep in our lives - the ones who inspire us to think differently, to question the norms, and to embrace our individuality.

One of the photographs smuggled out of Syria shows a starved prisoner’s body



Ahmad al-Musalmani, 14, was returning from Lebanon to Syria to attend his mother’s funeral when officers from President Assad’s air force intelligence stopped his minibus at a bridge checkpoint.

They found a song criticising President Assad on his mobile phone, enough to incriminate the youngster. One officer called him an animal as he dragged him away.

That was August 2012. The teenager’s family discovered his fate two and a half years later. A photographer who worked for the military under the codename Caesar smuggled 28,707 pictures out of Syria showing 6,786 of the people who died in government detention facilities. Five images were of al-Musalmani’s corpse.

The boy’s story is just one of several that have come to light after the international organisation Human Rights
