They may be labeled as outcasts or rebels, but in reality, they're the ones who are brave enough to challenge the status quo and forge their own path. Let's celebrate the black sheep in our lives - the ones who inspire us to think differently, to question the norms, and to embrace our individuality.

kallirresearch Käthe Kollwitz loosely based her second major print cycle, "Peasants' War," on Wilhelm Zimmermann's history of a 16thcentury uprising of peasants against their oppressive overlords.




 Between 1902 and 1908, the German artist executed seven etchings illustrating the injustices that touched off the rebellion, culminating in the peasants' defeat by the more powerful aristocracy. "The Prisoners," the final plate of the series, shows the rebels captured and shackled.
