Mystery- The Haunted Town Of St. Nazianz, WI St. Nazians was founded by a priest who wholeheartedly believed to helped cursed the town. Over the years, the town has been hit with natural disasters and unexplained phenomena. Father Ambrose Oschwald was fled to Wisconsin in 1854 from religious persecution. The Roman Catholic Church had suspended him from his duties due to “mystical, prophetic, and heretical works.” Already, the scary history of the town is starting to make sense! Oddly enough, the congregation followed him. Once they got to Wisconsin, a “divine white heifer” lead them to the site of his new home which would become St. Nazianz. The community actually thrived. One of the last images of Farkhunda Malikzada alive. She was beaten, fell off a roof, run over by a car, and set on fire after she was accused of burning the Quran. It was later discovered that she was innocent, 2015

Farkhunda Malikzada was a 27-year-old teacher at the Shah-Do Shamira mosque where she worked as a religious teacher. Outside the mosque, she disagreed with a Mullah (Islamic priest) as he was selling pagan amulets. He then accused her of burning the Quran. Promoting paganism and burning the Quran are acts that are sinful in Islam, as Islam is a monotheistic religion, and the writings in the Quran are taken as a direct word of God, unlike much of the Bible or some other religious texts. This event took place in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Hundreds of angry radicals began to flock to the Mosque upon hearing the allegation. Police arrived and tried to get Farkhunda away from the situation by hoisting her onto a roof, but she was hit by stones and slipped off the roof. She was then hit by a car and dragged 100 meters away She was then dragged away to the Kabul River and was stoned to death. She was so saturated in her blood that she could not be set on fire, so some people in the crowd took off their clothes to maintain the fire. All of this for something she didn't do. Police failed during this event to protect her or to properly intervene.

After her death, she was buried and her murder was investigated. Different participants, police officers, and others involved with the event were given varying prisoner sentences, from 24 years to 1-year sentences. The Mullah admitted to lying about the accusation. Her death was broadcast globally, and it received condemnation all over the world.

The Mullah initially got the death sentence, but it was reduced to 20 years in prison.
